From the very beginning, the Jesuits accepted to open a school only if it was “founded”: people with substantial financial resources, convinced of the validity of the educational proposal of the Society of Jesus, invited them to open a school for their city and committed themselves to finance it. Under these conditions the Jesuits accepted, and this allowed them to make a proposal open to all, in conditions of freedom and gratuity.

Five centuries later, in a situation that is not easy for parochial schools, our objective is to come as close as possible to that model: to ensure, that is, that our schools are open to all those who wish to benefit from our educational proposal, regardless of economic possibilities. In order to achieve this, we naturally need the help of private contributions: the Foundation also depends on the generosity of those who, sharing its aims, contribute “with an activity, even professional, of particular importance or with the attribution of tangible or intangible assets subject to the approval of the Board of Directors. Participants may allocate their contribution to specific projects falling within the scope of the Foundation’s activities”. (Article 8 of the Statute)

Among the various projects implemented in recent years, then, the study grants are a constant: very often co-financed by the Foundation itself, by the Italian Province of the Society of Jesus or by individual schools, they have given many young people the opportunity to attend our institutes. In Turin, for example, there is the project Tutti alla lavagna, of the Felicita Gallesio Foundation; in Rome there is the initiative Young people, leadership and the future, with the involvement of companies and individual benefactors.

Beyond specific proposals, of course, there is the possibility to directly help the Foundation in its activities through spontaneous donations.

COMPANIES

Companies can make donations to the Jesuit Education Foundation deducting them within the limits of 2% from their business income (Art 100 TUIR paragraph 2 letter a). Contributions and donations in cash must be paid by companies by bank check or bank transfer using the following coordinates:

OFFERS OF STAGE

For companies, then, another way in which you can lend a hand to the project of the Foundation is to train our most deserving young people with a stage: we believe that the link between school and the world of work should be strengthened more and more. Several initiatives are already underway -an example is the collaboration started by Leone XIII with Vodafone – and are giving good results, as well as the days of orientation in which many professionals make themselves available to students (at school or in their studies) to get them into the heart of their activities.
