The Jesuit Education Foundation was established in Milan, at San Fedele House, on February 17, 2014 by an initial group of Founding Promoters.
The Foundation is non-profit and cannot distribute profits.
This Foundation corresponds to the legal framework of the Foundations of Participation, within the broader genre of Foundations regulated by the Civil Code and related laws.
The Foundation’s assets consist of the Endowment Fund and the Operating Fund. The Endowment Fund is formed by the contributions made by the Promoting Founders and the Founding Participants in cash or other movable or immovable property. It also consists of any other asset or economic utility that comes into the ownership, including superficial, of the Foundation without a specific destination. The Operating Fund, on the other hand, is made up of those assets and/or economic benefits which, by the will of the Initial Promoting Founders and therefore of the Board of Directors or by the disposition of those who assign them to the Foundation, are expressly destined to meet the organizational needs of the Foundation and to meet the economic burdens necessary for the pursuit of institutional activities.
The Foundation’s financial year begins on September 1 and ends on August 31 of each year. By December 31, the Board of Directors approves the budget for the following year and by the following April 30, the balance sheet of the previous year.
The members of the Foundation are divided into:
– Promoting Founders;
– Supporting Participants;
– Participants.
Founders-Promoters are those who have signed the Foundation’s charter or have been appointed as such in the charter.
