The Jesuit Education Foundation was created with the aim of networking educational institutions characterized by the same values, the same methods and the same style. In fact, we believe that many things can be done better when we work together, and that the constant comparison and exchange of best practices is a great asset for all. The Jesuit Education Foundation was founded with the aim of bringing together educational institutions with the same values, methods and style.

We make resources available, when needed, but more than a “common fund” we are a “common house”: the common house of Ignatianism, of all those who find themselves in the Jesuit educational approach and consider it more relevant than ever in the face of today’s challenges.

The Foundation is a Foundation of participation, therefore it is not constituted on a monetary patrimony to be put to income, but its richness is given by the value and the quality of the schools, of the organizations and of the people that participate in the network and work in it daily.

The Jesuit Education Foundation was born initially as a network of the 7 schools of the then Italian Province of the Society of Jesus (6 in Italy and one in Albania), then expanded and extended to other training and educational institutions, as well as, with the birth of the Euro-Mediterranean Province of the Society of Jesus, to the great College of Malta.

We are open and ready to expand to other realities: we could be the right answer for all those Catholic schools that, founded in different historical moments, are now questioning about their identity and their future. Or for those institutions, even those just born, who want to be characterized by a special attention to the human dimension and what, in the Ratio studiorum, St. Ignatius called Cura personalis.

Becoming a member of the Foundation is not a formal act, but a substantial one: it commits the applicant, and the Foundation itself, to share a rather demanding path. Article 8 of the statute explains that

“May become Founding Participants natural persons, including foreign nationals, legal persons, public or private, and institutions, including those based abroad, which, sharing the purposes of the Foundation, comply with the statute and the regulations and contribute on a multi-year basis to the Endowment Fund or to the Management Fund through a contribution in cash, goods or services, in the form and to the extent established, even annually, by the Board of Directors.
The Founding Participants contribute in a special way to the purpose of the Foundation. Founding Participants are, however, those schools managed or controlled by the Society of Jesus.
The Board of Directors will determine the initial contribution required for each individual Founding Participant by its own appropriate resolution.”

To join, you must send an application to the President of the Foundation. If you are a natural person, you have to specify your identification and personal data; if you are a public or private juridical person or an entity, you have to specify the data of constitution or recognition of the juridical personality. Together with the reason for the request, it is necessary to specify one’s desire to join the project and, at the same time, it is necessary to sign a series of commitments: to follow the guidelines, to periodically undergo the accompanying visit, to pay annually the cash contribution determined by the Board of Directors.
