The Ignatian Day in Messina
The Sant’Ignazio College of Messina has announced the Ignatian Day, which will take place on Friday, May 24th, from 8 AM to 6 PM within the Institute’s rooms.
The idea of dedicating this day to students, parents, and citizens stems from the desire to showcase Ignatian identity, values, and charisma to the local community and surroundings. To introduce participants to the educational predisposition of the Society of Jesus, the Institute has chosen the life and spiritual experience of Ignatius of Loyola as the theme, which will be explored through games, sports activities, moments of reflection, and prayers.
The invitation, open to everyone, also provides the opportunity to contribute to various solidarity projects by purchasing small, handcrafted items made by children from the kindergarten and primary school, as well as students from the secondary school of the College.
Aiming to strengthen the social and cultural bond between the Institute and the city of Messina, the day will also feature the presentation of the “St. Ignatius Award” in the presence of Mayor Dr. Federico Basilo. This award aims to recognize local initiatives that align with the educational project and Ignatian charisma of the Institute.
The day’s program and logistical and organizational details can be found here and are also available on the Sant’Ignazio College website.
