Administration Staff Training

The annual meeting of the Administration, Business, and Finance Staff of the Schools of the Jesuit Education Network took place on 25 January 2022, with the participation of the staff members from all the Institutes of Italy, Albania, and Malta.
The meeting took place via videoconference during the morning. The agenda of the meeting included both specific professional items and training. The consolidated financial statements for the financial year 2020/2021 were presented and discussed, as well as the new bad-debt management procedure drawn up and launched by the Foundation. The second part of the meeting was dedicated to the training on the document “Jesuits Schools. A living tradition in the 21st century “, issued by ICAJE and containing the indicators that define a school as “Ignatian”, on which all the Schools of the network are concentrating their works.
This meeting aims to provide also an opportunity for sharing and discussion, a space for reflection to perceive that each member of the staff is fully part of the network and the apostolic mission of each School and of the Society of Jesus. The administrative offices are jointly responsible for the achievement of the mission of the school together with anybody else who is working in the School and contributes to this objective. Therefore, administrative staff members are recipients of training as well as all the other collaborators who provide their services in our Schools.
The administrators were specifically asked what it means for them to work in a Jesuit School, identifying their specific traits. Arianna Li Perni, from the Administrative office at Istituto Sociale in Torino, replied: “During the last few months, which have been particularly difficult for me on a personal level, I have experienced the “cura personalis” and feeling part of a family, an environment characterized by close relationships, which I never have perceived in other workplaces “.
