A new beginning for our network of schools

Meetings, dialogue and collaboration to inaugurate the new school year under the sign of shared planning

The new school year has begun with enthusiasm and a spirit of collaboration, marking an important moment of renewal for the network of schools of the Jesuit Education Foundation.

The meetings of the CeFAEGI Training Coordinators, the Tutoring Network and the Pastoral Teams offered all participants a valuable opportunity for dialogue and shared growth, continuing to promote an education inspired by cura personalis and the Ignatian educational vision.

CeFAEGI Training

On September 18th, in Milan, the first meeting of the year was held for the local training coordinators of CeFAEGI, led by the central team.

Entitled “Ready to start again!”, the gathering brought together representatives from the schools of the network — Sant’Ignazio (Messina), Meshkalla (Albania), Massimo (Rome), Leone XIII (Milan), Sociale (Turin), Gonzaga Campus (Palermo) and St Aloysius (Malta, online) — to share experiences, good practices and common perspectives.

Throughout the day, participants reflected on the role of local coordinators, on how to accompany newly hired teachers, and on how to make ongoing professional development more effective and meaningful.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of attentive listening and collaboration, fostering authentic dialogue and new synergies among the colleges.

By the end of the day, a calendar of upcoming meetings had been outlined, with the aim of strengthening, over time, a networked path based on sharing and mutual professional enrichment.

Tutoring: a renewed journey

On Friday, September 19th, 2025, in Milan, the first in-person meeting of the local tutoring coordinators took place: “Face to Face.”

The gathering marked a new beginning for the network, with the participation of representatives and delegations from nearly all the schools of the Euro-Mediterranean Province — including Istituto Sociale, Istituto Leone XIII, Istituto Massimo, Gonzaga Campus and Istituto Sant’Ignazio.

Participants alternated between plenary sessions, group work and informal moments of exchange.

It was a time of listening and collective reflection on the deeper meaning of tutoring as a form of personal accompaniment for students — and beyond — in the perspective of holistic care for each person.

Pastoral work: looking ahead together

From October 8th to 10th, representatives of the pastoral teams of the network met in Milan to reflect on the characteristics of the pastoral journeys of the various colleges and to begin updating the Pastoral Guidelines, also in light of the Society’s recent educational documents.

Three days of listening, dialogue and collaborative writing allowed participants to share experiences and explore how to accompany today the human and spiritual growth of our educational communities.

Representatives came from Malta, Shkodra, Turin, Palermo, Rome, Messina and Milan — a sign of a living and international network, capable of walking together in the spirit of renewal and mutual listening.

A network journey that continues

Meetings, group work and moments of exchange have made these weeks a true time of participation and collaboration.

A heartfelt thanks to CeFAEGI, to the network coordinators and to all those who, with passion and dedication, accompany our schools every day in their educational mission.

Best wishes to everyone — and especially to the network staff of the Jesuit Education Foundation — for a new year of shared growth, inspired by the Ignatian educational mission.
