School of happiness with Enrico Galiano

On Wednesday, April 3rd, at 8:30PM at the Gonzaga Campus, there will be a meeting for teenagers, parents, teachers, and educators on the meaning of school today.

What is the purpose of school for it to make sense today? Is it really true that we go to school to learn facts? Is it really necessary to say that school is for acquiring skills, using cryptic language from industry experts? And what if we said that school is for happiness? What if we dared to challenge the present time by giving this goal to the school? Not the market, not the economic or social outcome, not the statistics, but happiness? Small goals are not enough today, we need to think a little bigger and about the big questions that our time presents to us. Is this challenge only for young students? Obviously not

What kind of school for today’s boys and girls?
This is the question that Gonzaga Campus wants to raise in Palermo. The path of reflection that Gonzaga offers to the city begins with a great teacher who knows how to speak to young people and manages to reveal their deepest essence – in a compelling and engaging way – in the classroom, through the written word, on stage, and on social media, where he is very active and followed. Enrico Galiano, a teacher, writer, and influencer, presents ‘School of Happiness for Eternal Repeaters‘ on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2023, at 8:30PM at the auditorium of Gonzaga Campus: a dialogue designed for teenagers, parents, teachers, educators, for all those who deal with young people and for those who wish to be happy.

Enrico Galiano, known as ‘The teacher who writes bestsellers’, is an Italian teacher in a small suburban school, writes novels, and creates content for the web. Born in 1977, in 2015 he created the web series ‘Cose da prof’ which has surpassed twenty million views on Facebook. He made his debut as a writer with the novel Eppure cadiamo felici the revelation book of 2017, which won the International City of Como Award for Best First Work and the Mediterranean Culture Award and is currently being translated throughout Europe. He then published the novels Tutta la vita che vuoi (2018), Più forte di ogni addio (2019), Basta un attimo per tornare bambini (2019), Dormi stanotte sul mio cuore (2020), the essay L’arte di sbagliare alla grande (2020), the novel Felici contro il mondo (2021), and the essay Scuola di felicità per eterni ripetenti (2022), all published by Garzanti. In 2022, he published with Salani his first story for children, La società segreta dei salvaparole, a love anthem to words and language, winner of the prestigious Bancarellino Prize 2023. His latest book is titled Geografia di un dolore perfetto (Garzanti, 2023).

With his fun and somewhat unconventional lessons, he is one of the teachers on the RaiGulp program ‘La banda dei fuoriclasse’. In 2015, he was included by the website Masterprof.it in the list of the 100 best teachers in Italy, and in 2020 he earned a place in the ranking of the 10 most influential teachers in Italy by Sole 24 Ore
