Carlo Acutis, whose canonisation process is nearing completion, was a very diligent, respectful and lively student. His goodness and generosity were manifested in the help and availability he gave to those in difficulty and he spoke to his friends and companions about the faith and the values of the Church. A student at the Leone XIII Institute in Milan, where he fully developed his personality and his interest in communication and information technology. In fact, he started, together with a computer engineering student, to work on the website of the parish of Santa Maria Segreta in Milan.

Although his studies were demanding, he decided to devote part of his time to looking after children preparing for Confirmation, together with other volunteers older than him, and designed the new website for the voluntary work of the Leone XIII Institute.

Love for the Eucharist and the Virgin Mary were the cornerstones of his life: Charles had understood from a very young age that for an that effective missionary action required a genuine spiritual life.

To honor his life, cut short by fulminant leukemia, the scholarship ‘In memory of Carlo’ was established, which every year finances the education of deserving young people in financial difficulty.
