Gonzaga City Day is back – activities and workshops for the whole city!
On Saturday, April 12th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, children, teenagers, and families will be at the heart of Gonzaga CITY Day, an initiative by the Gonzaga Campus offering free workshops and activities open to the entire city. The goal is to give young children, teens, and families opportunities to explore creativity, sports, fun, and inclusive intergenerational play.
The planned activities will take place in the large green spaces of the Campus. There will be 50 different options to choose from, organized into 8 thematic areas that reflect Gonzaga’s educational approach:
- Sport & Health
- Ecology & Environment
- Digital & Technologies
- Art & Creativity
- Global Citizenship & Multilingualism
- Spirituality & Life Choices
- Social & Political Engagement
- Culture & Communication
For each of these thematic areas, workshops will be offered in both Italian and English, tailored to four different age groups: 3–4 years, 5–8 years, 9–12 years, and 13–18 years. Many of the workshops will also be open to adults, designed as parent-child experiences. After completing a workshop session, participants will be free to choose and join another activity.
“It has now become a wonderful tradition to open Gonzaga to the city on a Saturday in April or May,” says Fr. Vitangelo Denora, General Director of the Campus. “This gesture expresses the school’s relationship with the city’s challenges through a spirit of openness and service. Education is about our future — the future of Palermo and the future of our world. Seeing children and young people come together, spend time with one another, play and have fun is, for us, the most beautiful sign of hope in a context that increasingly causes concern. A new world will be born from the youngest among us.”
