Each area of activity has its own coordinators/referents, who meet in the Commission for the Ignatian Educational Proposal (CPEI), which has the purpose of formulating and coordinating the proposals and the accompaniment of the schools and the adherent institutes in their work according to the Ignatian pedagogy and the lines of the network.

After graduating from classical high school in 1980, Fr Claudio Barretta entered the Society of Jesus. He pursued ordinary studies in Philosophy and Theology at PFTIM, finishing them with a Licentiate in Biblical Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome in 1994. In the meantime he was an educator in a therapeutic community for drug addicts in the Emmanuel Community in Lecce.

From 1994 to 2000, he was applied to the youth apostolate between the provinces of Naples and Caserta, while he was Vice-Rector of the Naples San Luigi Theologate.
In 2000, having taken his Last Vows, he was called to the task of Rector of the Theologate of Naples and Delegate for Formation for the Province of Italy. In 2008 Fr General appointed him Vice Provincial for Central-Southern Italy and in 2014 Vice Provincial for Italy.
At the same time, he served as President of the Ignatian Educational Centre Association, which then managed the Paritarian School of the same name in Palermo. Superior of the Community of the Gesù Nuovo in Naples since 2017, he was applied to the Administrative-Economic Office of the EUM Province in 2022, while he assumed the presidency of the Jesuit Education Foundation and then that of the Gonzaga Institute in Palermo.

Alessia Fontana is Director of the Jesuit Education Foundation and coordinates the Foundation’s areas of activity: from the charismatic ones of the educational proposal to those related to governance, strategic planning and economic management up to Network communication and fundraising.

She attended classical high school at the Arecco Institute, Jesuit college in Genoa. Subsequently, she obtained a degree in Economics, qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Auditor and obtained a PhD in Applied Economics and Quantitative Methods.

In 2016 she met the Society of Jesus again as a professional and began a collaboration with the Foundation to support the administrative staff and carry out coordination activities for the Institutes, with the aim of making the network more solid and cohesive from an economic and management point of view. In 2017, she attended an advanced training course in Management and Administration of Religious Institutes’ parish schools, at the Catholic University of Milan. Subsequently, she attended a diploma course in Leadership and Management at the Gregorian University in Rome.

Between 2018 and 2019, she was President of the Board of Directors of the Rosetum Foundation, which ran a parish institute in Besozzo, in the province of Varese.

Since 2022 she has held the position of Secretary General of the Jesuit Education Foundation.

Cristina Moretti studied architecture and worked for more than 30 years in the family business as an administrative secretary: here she acquired consolidated business experience in the field of organisational support and backoffice management.

Since October 2017, she has been Head of the Administrative Secretariat of the Jesuit Education Foundation: she is responsible for the management of accounting and personnel data, administers financial deadlines, monitors reporting and organises events, also logistically.

Fr. Jimmy Bartolo SJ was born in Malta in 1965 and entered the Society of Jesus in 1986. After his initial formation, he studied Philosophy at the Aloisianum in Padua, Italy, and was assigned to the regency at St. Aloysius College in Malta.
He earned a degree in Theological Studies at the Milltown Institute for Philosophy and Theology in Dublin, Ireland, and a degree in Theology at the Pontifical Comillas University in Madrid, Spain.
After his ordination, Fr. Jimmy SJ spent ten years as chaplain of the University of Malta and served as a part-time educator at St. Aloysius College Sixth Form. He was also Superior of the Jesuit community in Msida, the Jesuit university residence. Between 2008 and 2011, he served as Assistant to the Rector and Chaplain of St. Aloysius College Sixth Form.
Fr. Jimmy SJ obtained a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Boston College, Massachusetts, USA. In February 2013, he became Rector of St. Aloysius College in Malta, a position he still holds.
Since 2015, Fr. Jimmy SJ has been Coordinator of the Association of Church Schools in Malta and is currently a member of the steering committee of JECSE (Jesuit European Committee for Primary and Secondary Education).
He served as President of the Fondazione Gesuiti Educazione of the Euro-Mediterranean Province from 2017 to 2022 and is now a member of its Board of Directors. For many years, he was consultor to the former Maltese Province of the Jesuits.

P. Vincenzo Greco SJ was born in Catania in 1964. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1984. After his novitiate in Genoa he studied philosophy in Naples. From 1988 to 1993 he was a teacher in the community of the Gonzaga Institute in Palermo. After theological studies in Paris he was ordained priest in Catania on 21 December 1996.
In 1999 he obtained a Licentiate in Moral Theology at the Accademia Alfonsiana in Rome. From 1999 to 2007 he was in charge of pastoral care at the Gonzaga Institute in Palermo. In 2003 he graduated in Political Science from the University of Palermo. In 2004 he was sent to Chile for eight months for the last stage of his Jesuit formation, and in 2006 he took his Last Vows in the Society of Jesus.
From 2007 to 2010 he was parish priest and superior in Catania and at the same time, for almost two years, Delegate for the Jesuit Youth Apostolate of the Province of Italy.
Since 2010 he has been deputy director of the Arrupe Institute for Political Formation in Palermo and Rector of the Community.
From 2013 he is sent back to the parish SS. Crocifisso dei Miracoli in Catania as minister and vice-parish priest, in 2021 he is appointed Vicario Foraneo by the Archbishop of Catania.
Since September 2022 he has been a member of the community of the Scolasticate of San Saba, of which he became the rector in August 2023.

In 1998, he entered the Novitiate of the Society of Jesus in Genoa. After formation in Genoa, Padua, L’Aquila, and Rome, he was ordained a priest in 2008. Berardino Guarino, originally from Naples, is married to Vittoria and is the father of Luca. He holds a degree in Law. Among his positions, he served as National Vice President of the Italian Catholic Action and Head of the Volunteer Center for the Jubilee of the Year 2000.
From 2001 to 2015, he worked as Director at the Centro Astalli, the Italian headquarters of the Jesuit Refugee Service.
Since 2015, he has served as the Treasurer of the Province of Italy of the Society of Jesus and currently of the Euro-Mediterranean Province.

Shega Mirashi, Albanian by origin, born in 1970. She currently coordinates two communities for MSNAs at the ABUSUAN Association – Bari.
She has a degree in Educational Sciences and specialised in Planning and Management of Educational and Training Services (Rome). She also holds a Licence in Religious Sciences with a specialisation in Theological-Ecumenical Studies in Rome.
After her studies, she worked for nine years as a school director in Albania (compulsory education). Her work experience was enriched by various collaborations with the Jesuits within the framework of MAGIS projects in Tirana, as a university tutor at the Public University of Political and Social Sciences, as a collaborator in the area of catechetical pastoral work and also in the area of translations into Albanian.
In 2023, she became a member of the Board of Directors of the Atë Pjetër Mëshkalla School in Shkodra. To give quality to her work and for a holistic approach both to herself and to the people she works with, in 2024 she decided to follow a telematics course as an Expert in “Applied Positive Psychology” Mindfulness at IEPP (European Institute of Positive Psychology) based in Genoa.

Gabriella Tona is Milanese by origin, married, has two daughters and is grandmother of two grandchildren.
She graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Milan and was immediately interested in the world of education. Since 1985, she has been a science teacher at the I and II Grade Secondary School of the Leone XIII Institute in Milan, while continuing her research activities in the early years.
Since 1999 she has been the Didactic Coordinator of the Liceo Classico first and, since 2001, also of the Liceo Scientifico.
From 2004 she was Rector, then Director General of the same Institute, where she ended her service in 2023.
From 2018 to 2022, she was a board member of the Rosetum Foundation, which ran a parish school in Besozzo, in the province of Varese.
Since 2023, she has been a board member of the Massimiliano Massimo Institute in Rome.
Convinced of the profound value of voluntary work, she has always attended it, combining her time with family and work commitments.

Francesca Argenti, Head of the Educational Area of the Fondazione Gesuiti Educazione, coordinates the College of Representatives to foster cohesion and collaboration among schools and to enhance Ignatian pedagogy.
After attending the Classical High School at the Istituto Leone XIII in Milan, she earned a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, where she also obtained her teaching qualification in French and English.
Between 2003 and 2019, she taught French language and literature at the Scientific and Classical High Schools and at the Lower Secondary School of Istituto Leone XIII, where she also held several positions over the years: Assistant to the Headmaster for the Lower Secondary School, Coordinator for Technology-Enhanced Learning, and Curriculum Coordinator for the school. Since 2012, she has worked first for the school network and later for the Fondazione Gesuiti Educazione as Network Coordinator for technologies, also joining the CPEI (Commission for the Ignatian Educational Proposal).
In 2019, she moved to Verona, where she continued teaching French at the Ministry of Education while also serving as coordinator for the PTOF and Orientation, continuing to integrate the linguistic dimension with the educational and innovative one.
Alongside her teaching role, she has taken part in numerous innovation and educational research projects with Indire, Imparadigitale, and Università Cattolica. She has led student teams in projects on educational technologies and work-based learning, such as MI030 and Fondazione Vodafone. She has also participated in international initiatives such as the Apple Education Leadership Summit in London and the Italian Leader Briefing in Cupertino. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Master’s Degree in Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
She has published articles and contributions in Tuttoscuola and other journals, addressing issues related to Ignatian pedagogy: from educational innovation to flexible curricula and the use of technologies in schools.

Genova, philosophical studies in Padua, and the period of “teaching” spent at the Leone XIII in Milan.
He earned his first-cycle degree in theological studies in Naples, at the PFTIM, and his license in the United States at Boston College. He was ordained a priest in Turin in 2008.
For nine years, he was involved in Pastoral work at the Gonzaga Institute in Palermo, before moving to Rome as Minister and economist at the community of formation for young Jesuits in San Saba, where he also served as Vice Parish Priest.
He collaborates with the activities of Minicourses in Selva di Val Gardena and with the Student Missionary League for Service camps in Peru. Since September 2022, he has returned to Leone XIII as the head of School Pastoral Care.

Maria Alessandra Capello is an alumna of the Istituto Sociale in Turin, where she completed her studies up to the Scientific High School diploma. Passionate about mountaineering, during her university years she became a youth group leader for the CAI (Italian Alpine Club).
After earning a degree in Mathematics, she returned to the Istituto Sociale as a teacher from 1992 to 2001. In those years, she was also actively involved in the Alumni Association, in youth ministry, and in volunteer work as president of the Turin branch of the Lega Missionaria Studenti.
She later moved to Milan for family reasons and joined the Istituto Leone XIII as a high school teacher. There, she became the local coordinator for tutoring and then Deputy Coordinator of the Scientific High School.
In 2025, she took on the role of Network Coordinator for Tutoring at the Fondazione Gesuiti Educazione. In the meantime, she continues to teach Mathematics and Physics with passion to her students and, whenever possible, ventures back onto the trails of her beloved Piedmont mountains.
