Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati: from Jesuit schools to sainthood

On Sunday, September 7th, in St. Peter’s Square, Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati will be proclaimed saints. Two young men who lived in different times, yet united by a deep faith, a life dedicated to others, and their bond with Jesuit schools: Carlo as a student at the Istituto Leone XIII in Milan, Pier Giorgio at the Istituto Sociale in Turin.
On the occasion of their canonization, the Jesuits’ Euro-Mediterrean Province collected the testimonies of teachers who knew them or studied their lives. What emerges is the portrait of “ordinary” young people – passionate, curious, able to build authentic relationships and to show concrete attention to those most in need.
Two paths that today speak to schools, educators, and parents: behind every student lies a unique story and a potential for goodness that can blossom into holiness.
