Malta. Staff Development Day in connection with Priority 8

Ms Josephine Vassallo, Coordinator for Global Citizenship Education in the Jesuit Schools of the EUM Province, started the morning with an examen based on Laudato Sì. An overview of all the related activities and work regarding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was carried out by all the preps across the schools followed.
Based on the results of the Environmental Review carried out by the school’s EkoSkola Committee at the beginning of the scholastic year, two other SDGs were chosen for the coming scholastic year
SDG 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
Teachers were then led through some personal training before splitting up in the year groups to write their prep’s action plans for the coming scholastic year.
EMPHASIS DURING SCHOLASTIC YEAR 2018-19 was focused on SDGs 12-14-15.
Our annual Red Chair campaign in March targets Sustainable Development Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
EMPHASIS DURING SCHOLASTIC YEAR 2019-20 will be focused on SDGs 6-13.
