{"id":7242,"date":"2025-03-21T09:55:49","date_gmt":"2025-03-21T08:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gesuitieducazione.it\/?p=7242"},"modified":"2025-03-21T09:55:50","modified_gmt":"2025-03-21T08:55:50","slug":"how-to-educate-the-heart-for-a-broken-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gesuitieducazione.it\/en\/how-to-educate-the-heart-for-a-broken-world\/","title":{"rendered":"How to educate the heart for a broken world?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>On Thursday, February 13th, the Representatives for Global Citizenship from the Institutes belonging to the Euro-Mediterranean Network of the Society of Jesus gathered, as usual, to discuss the topic of Global Citizenship, a key value of the Ignatian educational approach.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A shared roadmap has recently been outlined, allowing for the establishment of a timeline for common educational objectives. Each Institute has subsequently defined its specific methods for achieving this collective path, promoting the values of citizenship and inclusion that are at the core of the roadmap itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting on February 13th, which is part of a periodic schedule, as is the case for all other areas of work within the Foundation, provided the Representatives with the opportunity to receive updates on the important journey undertaken and to share reflections and opinions. These discussions were inspired by the chosen guiding theme for the meeting: &#8220;<strong>Educating the heart for a broken world<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The participants explored this theme, which primarily highlights the importance of making education for Global Citizenship increasingly present within school curricula. Through shared discussions, the importance of fostering a classroom community that encourages inclusion and commitment to justice among young people also emerged, promoting positive change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside the concept of Global Citizenship, the theme of social justice also emerged as a catalyst for change and a tool for creating a more equitable and fair society. Indeed, on February 20th, the <strong>World Day of Social Justice<\/strong> was celebrated, with this year&#8217;s theme being &#8220;Strengthening Inclusion: Bridging Gaps for Social Justice.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal is to help young people develop their own ideas and critical thinking skills by analyzing diverse sources, integrating social justice into various academic subjects.
